New Settings FAQ

Thank you for completing our survey.

We have listed answers to the most common questions below, however if you have any other questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

When will the club start operating?

This depends on a number of factors, some of which are out of our control. A required inspection visit from Ofsted can take upwards of 12 weeks to schedule. Staff recruitment can also take a number of weeks. A realistic time frame would see a new setting open from between one to two terms from after we establish there is sufficient demand for a sustainable provision.

What will sessions cost?

Whilst we have not finalised costs yet, we would anticipate them to be approximately as follows:

  • After School Club – £10.00 to £12.00 per session
  • Holiday Club – £12.50 to £16.00 per half day

What is the booking process?

We predominantly offer care on a pre-booked regular half termly basis. Once you have been allocated a permanent space for your required sessions each week, you will receive a half termly booking confirmation with payment schedule. You are expected to maintain your weekly session without cancellation or be at risk of losing your place.

Permanent bookings roll over each term unless notification of cancellation is received.

We still accept ad-hoc bookings but these are subject to spaces being available.

What food is provided?

Afternoon snack usually comprises a wrap, sandwich or similar and a selection of fruits and vegetables (afternoon snack is not intended to replace a main meal).

Fresh water and juice is always available.

We are registered with the Food Standards Agency and have a 5 star rating at all our clubs.

What payments do you accept?

We recognise that childcare can be costly, so we encourage eligible parents or carers to claim the childcare element of the Working Tax Credit/Universal Credit (See below).

  • Fees are payable either weekly, monthly or half termly all in advance.
  • Fees can only be paid by electronic bank transfer or with childcare vouchers.

What is the cancellation policy?

If a place has been booked and is no longer required or requires changing, you must give us notice of cancellation/change by the Monday of the week before the session to be cancelled/changed. If sufficient notice is not given in accordance with the foregoing, the place will still be charged for.

Do you accept childcare vouchers?

We accept payments from all major childcare voucher schemes as well as the government Tax-Free Childcare scheme and the Childcare Grant Payment Service. (see Tax Free Childcare)

What activities do you provide for the children?

Our children’s activities usually include:

  • Access to an IT Suite
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Outdoor Play & games
  • Free Play/Board Games
  • Quiet/Homework Area
  • Music/Dance

Are staff qualified?

All staff are either experienced in childcare or are qualified after completing a relevant course. Staff receive enhanced DBS checks and are trained in paediatric first aid and safeguarding.
